Giovanni's Shrimp Truck

Giovanni's started operating out of a converted 1953 bread truck without much more than a few recipes for great shrimp and an entrepreneurial spirit. We drove our beloved truck around the North Shore stopping along the side of the road for a couple hours at each stop to share what we thought was some pretty special food- turns out, we were the only shrimp truck around. Locals took notice and word began to spread about the delicious shrimp…

In 1996, we decided to park the truck at 56-505 Kamehameha highway in beautiful, historic Kahuku town. In 1997 we opened a second truck on the edge of what was then an overgrown, swampy field at 66-472 Kamehameha highway in Haleiwa town. Back then, no one wanted that land, now it's one of the busiest spots in Haleiwa! Our truck there will forever be known know as "Across the street from McDonald's". Now that we were parked, our guests started to sign our truck so they'd be sure and see their signature the next time they visited!

We started to enter national and international food show contests for our delicious and unique recipes. We have won multiple awards for our Hot & Spicy sauce and our Scampi Marinade!

Word of mouth grew from locals and tourists alike and we had to retire old Bessie and get a new truck.

In 2006, Giovanni's became such a part of the community that we purchased the land we were parked on and in 2010, we built a pavilion, so patrons and visitors could enjoy our shrimp, the weather and each other. We will be proud to serve you for the next 20 years and beyond!

Cholos Homestyle Mexican

If you're craving Mexican food while on the north shore this is the spot with a menu that has something for everyone.

Amazing drinks and atmosphere this one of our favorite spots that we always make and effort to stop at while in Haleiwa on the North Shore.

Cholo’s has been around the North Shore for almost twenty years. Cholo’s has been a long time favorite among locals, military, kama aina, and return tourist. It was important for the owner to create an ambience similar to those that she has experienced while traveling throughout Mexico. . The décor, music, intention to create a friendly festive atmosphere, where people would gather to meet and make friends, enjoy good food and drinks at a great price.

Drawing from her past and retail experience, while continuing to forecast expansion and growth have played an important factor in Cholo’s success. Focusing on efficiency and speed Cholo’s has managed to create the fastest kitchen imaginable without having to add more people while maintaining quality and timely delivery of food.

To accompany all that awesome food, the Cholo’s Margarita Bar is always ready to create one of their widely famous margaritas. Starting with premium tequilas (30 to choose from), adding fresh squeezed juices and a few secret ingredients.

Choose a traditional, Cadillac. Tropical, Mango(in season) or a local Li Hing Mui. A full array of ice cold imported Mexican beers are also available and Spicy Mexican favorite the Michelada, as well as refreshing Cuban Mojitos! Or try a shot of Imported Oaxacan Mescal!

Throughout the years Cholos has grown with and met the needs of the community. It has become a tourist destination, a popular restaurant for local families, but most of all it has become a gathering place for all types of people of all ages. So whether one or two people are dropping by for a bite to eat or to grab a margarita at the bar, to hosting a special occasion for 20 or more, Cholo’s is a place of the people. Because at Cholo’s, Everyday Is A Fiesta!!!

Make yourself at home, where the legend Duke Kahanamoku grew up swimming, surfing, canoeing and bodysurfing.
In 1929, Duke rode a monster wave for 1 1/8 miles at Waikiki, likely the longest ride in modern times.
You know that image in your mind of Waikiki Beach, the one with Diamond Head in the distance and outrigger canoes in a turquoise bay of warm water? It’s real and it’s here every day. Splash, body surf or surf, in the warm, turquoise water just below Hawaii’s icon, Diamond Head – just like Duke did.
This is by far one of Oahu's most popular restaurants and for good reason its right on the beach with amazing views of diamond head its a must while on the island of Oahu.
This is great family restaurant you will not be disappointed click the link  below to see there menu and website

Haleiwa Bowls

The acai bowl may be a fad in the mainland, but once this delicious superfood blend was introduced in Hawaii, everyone became instantly obsessed.

There is nothing quite like enjoying an acai bowl full of acai berries, fresh fruit, granola or oatmeal, and a drizzle of honey for breakfast or as a post-hike meal. While you’ll find delicious acai bowls across the islands, our favorite comes from Haleiwa Bowls, a small, charming hut on Oahu’s north shore that serves up the best acai bowls and smoothies around. Let’s dig in.

Haleiwa Joes Seafood Grill

Through a passion for the ocean, great food, and a desire to share the stoke, friends Joe Lazar, Steve McGillin and Moe Lerner founded Haleiwa Joe’s restaurant in 1998.
Their adventures brought them to the North Shore for waves, but the Aloha spirit of sleepy Haleiwa town made them stay.
The founders believed that this Aloha spirit could be shared through a dining experience by celebrating surf legends in original memorabilia on the walls, menus boasting fresh, local ingredients and staff members that are just as talented at swimming with sharks as they are serving Mai Tais.
The Haleiwa location overlooking the ocean’s spectacular surf has become a social and culinary cornerstone for locals and visitors alike. In 2000, Haleiwa Joe’s opened a second location in Haiku Gardens on the windward side of Oahu. The open-air restaurant in this lush valley overlooks its own tropical garden and koi pond with a breathtaking view of the Ko‘olau mountain range.

Haleiwa Joe’s on the North Shore
Located in historic Haleiwa town on Oahu’s illustrious “Seven-mile Miracle,” the original Haleiwa Joe’s location boasts views of the harbor, ocean, and postcard sunsets. While the restaurant is casual enough for family dining, the food and service is fit for royalty. It is common to bump into surf celebrities and Hollywood stars dining here in the Surfing Capital of the World. This location is a notable hot spot for live entertainment and late night parties on the weekends.

Haleiwa Joe’s in Haiku Gardens
The second Haleiwa Joe’s location opened in 2000 on the windward side of Oahu in Kaneohe’s Haiku Gardens, which has a rich history. The land was sold in the mid-19th century as a royal possession to an Englishman named Bakersfield, who had quite a green thumb, planting many of the lily ponds and flowers still blooming in the gardens today.
In the Star-Advertiser’s PULSE quest for the best pau hana spots on Oahu, Haleiwa Joe’s Haiku makes the top of the list with the locals as, “one of those relaxing places that you’re happy to return to time after time.” The serenity of Haiku Gardens also makes this a popular venue for date nights, wedding parties, and special events. Sunday brunch is unique to this location and an absolute must for those who have yet to experience it.

Tropical Farms Macadamia Nuts

Words from the owners :
Tropical Farms began as a roadside operation in 1987. With Kamehameha Highway in the fore, and the Pacific Ocean at our backs, my wife Chrissy and I set upon an adventure that is ongoing after two decades. Cracking, sorting and packaging at night, the days were filled with children at the hip and the selling of fresh macadamia nuts from the hood of our car.

Today, we are fortunate indeed to have Tropical Farms in the perfect place. My wife and I were born and raised on the island of Oahu, and we are pleased to offer you a location that is among the most memorable in the State of Hawai'i—real country and true hospitality!

— Aloha and God Bless,
Steve and Chrissy Paty
